Transforming ABH Woodchip Facility for Grain Project

Project Summary

Albany Bulk Handling (ABH) is a woodchip export facility comprising rail receival, conveyors, stacker, reclaimers and a 1,000 tonne per hour slewing and luffing ship loader. In order to leverage new opportunities in the region, ABH commissioned a project to modify the existing woodchip export facility to enable the export of grains.

Wave’s uniquely experienced team was well equipped to overcome the myriads of unique design considerations associated with the modification of the facility to accommodate grain

  • Weatherproofing of existing materials handling systems.
  • Integration of dust management systems
  • Classification of hazardous areas and the modification, or replacement, of equipment located within those areas.
  • Modifications to conveyor and Shiploader (Structural, Mechanical and Electrical) to accommodate increased bulk density of grain compared with woodchip.
