Community and Collaboration: Elevating BITS Saints’ Facilities in Gladstone

The BITS Saints AFL Club in Boyne Island and Tannum Sands (BITS) has appointed Wave International as Project Managers for their new changing room facilities. This project, a critical piece of infrastructure for the region’s sporting community, is funded through a collaboration of public investment, the AFL, Queensland Cricket, and the BITS Saints. We are proud to have been selected to bring this essential project to life, supporting a cornerstone of the Central Queensland (CQ) sporting landscape.

Our selection stems not only from our engineering expertise but also from our commitment to community support and flexibility in service. Our Gladstone team has developed strong, long-standing relationships in the CQ region, delivering solutions that are agile and adaptable to meet each project’s unique needs. This flexibility, supported by well-structured project management processes, allows us to confidently support organizations like the BITS Saints as they work to grow community sports infrastructure.

We first connected with the BITS Saints through pro bono engineering, providing footing design for the club’s goal post nets. Recognising our commitment, the club approached us for further support, entrusting us with the structural and footing design for new advertising boards that will enhance visibility from the main road, representing an asset for the club’s sponsors and broader community.

These collaborations underscore our commitment to contributing to our local communities, especially in Gladstone.

Beyond work, our team is deeply embedded in the life of the BITS Saints Club, eagerly participating in sponsors’ days, match days, and other club events, including the popular beer pong and fancy-dress competitions!

Through our services, we aim not only to meet project goals but to nurture relationships and support the ongoing growth of an already thriving community hub.

“We believe that our success is rooted in the collective strength of our people and the partnerships we forge.” states Frederick Mills, a Senior Project Engineer within the Wave Gladstone local team.

“We are committed to delivering results that reflect the values of our clients and our community. And we look forward to contributing to this essential project for the BITS Saints and to future collaborations that strengthen the fabric of Central Queensland’s vibrant sporting community.”
