Project Summary
The Fingerboards Mineral Sands project is located in Glenaladale, between Stratford and Bairnsdale in East Gippsland. The project proposes to develop a mineral sands mining operation in the area. Wave International (Wave), appointed by Kalbar Resources, to conduct a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) to assess the viability of producing Rare Earths Concentrate from a mineral sands mining project. The DFS provided valuable insights and recommendations for the production of a Rare Earths Concentrate. The Wave team worked closely with the client’s integrated team. This collaborative approach allowed for seamless coordination and communication throughout the project development process.
Here are some key highlights from the project outcome:
- The DFS confirmed the technical feasibility of the Fingerboards Project for producing Rare Earths Concentrate and presented opportunities for optimisation to improve the project’s economic viability.
- Facilitated seamless integration with downstream processing capabilities in China.
- Positioned Kalbar Resources to make a significant contribution to the global Rare Earths supply chain
